Who are Military-Connected Students?
Military-connected students are: children in TK-12 schools, and young adults in Trade Schools, or Institutions of Higher Education (2 or 4 year schools) that are official dependents of a Military Service member. A military-connected student has one degree of separation from their military sponsor; the connection may be biological, because of an adoption, through foster parenting, or with in loco parentis authorization.
(Adapted from Military Child Education Coalition)
The Defense Department celebrates military children during the month of April. There are more than 1.6 million military children who face many challenges and unique experiences as a result of their parents' service.

Marine and Family Programs' Relocation Assistance Program and Family Team Building Community Support (FTBCS) work together with the Youth Centers and the local schools to provide a special program for school age youths to assist them in becoming acquainted with the opportunities awaiting them in Southern California.
The Youth Sponsorship Program helps youths moving to the Camp Pendleton area by matching them up with another age-appropriate youth presently living in the Camp Pendleton area. The youths correspond in order to find out exactly what to expect upon their arrival at Camp Pendleton.
To obtain a Youth Sponsor, you may use the toll-free line 1-800-253-1624, or contact the Relocation Assistance Program directly.
