Solana Center for Environmental Innovation
Interested in learning more about our day to day operations at Solana Center and helping the environment remotely? Solana Center virtual volunteer support typically does not require more than a computer and familiarity with Google Drive! Virtual opportunities are a great way to earn volunteer hours from the comfort of your own home!
Birch Aquarium Volunteer and Internship Program
Are you a high school student, or recent graduate, looking for invaluable experience, professional connections and unique opportunities? Birch Aquarium is committed to exposing the next generation of ocean conservationists to diverse careers within the field of marine science. We are seeking enthusiastic teens who are interested in science, have excellent communication skills and who are reliable, flexible and eager to learn. As an InterpreTEEN, you will increase visitor awareness of local and global conservation topics, while encouraging a sense of stewardship and connection to the natural world. You will be interacting with visitors of all ages on a regular basis. Volunteers are asked to make a minimum six-month commitment of one 4-hour shift per week.
Whether in our office or at the schools, we are looking for talented, passionate individuals who want to use their skills to have an impact on our young learners!
For those in school, choose a fun and professional learning experience as a support for the Carlsbad Educational Foundation! Interns or volunteers assist the Foundation’s directors and managers to support the education of every student in the Carlsbad Unified School District.
At Helen Woodward Animal Center, people help animals and animals help people. Our lives are more precious when trust, unconditional love, respect and care exist as the primary bond between animals and one another. Most of the work that is done here would not be possible without our team of dedicated volunteers, who donate their time to help us continue our mission.
There is a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available for anyone looking to join our family. Whether it’s walking dogs in Adoptions, lending a hand at one of our local events or helping in our Administrative office, there is something for everyone! Read and learn about the different opportunities available.
DELIVER MEALS and smiles to seniors in the San Diego community. You can help ensure our seniors remain independent. Our volunteers are doing so much more than just delivering nutricious meals.
Plus Box Assembly for North County Families
+BOX is looking for volunteers to join us in our Carlsbad warehouse to support +BOX Pack Outs, where we assemble and pack up boxes with healthy and nutritious ingredients for food insecure students and families in our community.
Pack Outs take place on multiple days every week, starting at 4:00pm (see schedule below). Registration is required and can be completed below.
San Diego County Board of Education
The San Diego County Board of Education believes it is important to seek out and consider students' ideas, viewpoints, and reactions to their educational program. In order to provide student perspective and promote civic involvement, the county board may appoint a student board member from a candidate pool that includes students who attend a public school within the county.
The selected students will be presented to the board for official appointment at its April meeting.
The Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and our North County Food Bank chapter provide nutritious food to people in need, advocate for the hungry, and educate the public about hunger-related issues.
