GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

The Carlsbad Unified School District Board of Trustees authorizes the granting of a high school diploma to any pupil who has completed all graduation requirements before the date of graduation. A student must earn 220 credits in order to graduate from Carlsbad Village Academy. Students earn 80 credits per year on a quarter schedule. Once students have remediated credit deficiencies, they may elect to either return to Carlsbad High School/Sage Creek High School or remain at CVA.

The CVA graduation requirements include: 

  • Achieving a total grade point average of 1.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale 
  • Earning 220 credits
  • Completing 20 hours of community service

TUTORING RESOURCES

  • Tutors.com: FREE homework help and test prep is available virtually from 10am-10pm, seven days a week. A Carlsbad City Library card is required to register for a one-on-one tutoring session. Click here to view the flyer for more details and link to register.

CONCURENT ENROLLMENT

CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT (Enrolled in college and high school at the same time)

Current high school students can start earning college credit at MiraCosta through concurrent enrollment!  The MiraCosta transfer center welcomes high school students to join one of our online Counseling 100 (1214 or 1216) courses this Summer! Taught by our lead transfer counselors, this 3-unit (UC & CSU transferable) course teaches students valuable success strategies to enhance their academic & career planning.  

Students will: 

⭐Explore their ideal career paths 

⭐Research salaries for their future careers 

⭐Learn what coursework is required for transferring to their dream school 

⭐Build their resumes  

⭐Learn valuable college & career success skills  

 

How do students enroll? 

  1. Complete an online application  

  2. Complete a concurrent enrollment form  

  3. Register through SURF by searching section #1214 or #1216

     

Students are welcome to join our transfer center team on zoom every Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday to learn more about their options and receive one-on-one assistance with the enrollment process!
